The Honeywell 3800 Series (originating from Hand Held Products) is a legacy line of linear imaging scanners revered for its durability and long service life in industrial and commercial settings. Models like the 3800g could read 1D barcodes quickly at various distances – from contact up to a couple of feet – using solid-state imaging technology with no moving parts, which ensured reliability over years of heavy use. The series included specialized variants (such as high-density or long-range models) to cater to different scanning needs, but all shared a focus on aggressive decoding and robustness.
