DS9900 Series

The Zebra DS9900 Series is a hybrid barcode scanner that seamlessly transitions between presentation mode and handheld mode, optimized for retail checkouts and laboratory use. It combines Zebra’s top imaging technology (800 MHz processor, megapixel sensor, PRZM) to capture 1D, 2D, and even Digimarc barcodes with high speed and accuracy in either mode. In hands-free mode, it sits in a presentation stand detecting items automatically, and when picked up it instantly switches to handheld scanning with an ergonomic grip – all without needing to press a button to toggle. The DS9900 is built tough for constant use, with a spill-resistant housing for lab or checkout counters, and even offers specialty models like an RFID-integrated version that combines barcode scanning and EPC tag reading in one device. The Tulip team did not test the integration with this specific model, although the Tulip team has high confidence that the integration works following instructions of the KB article as the protocol used by this device to communicate is supported by Tulip.
